UK Port Customs Clearance

Customs clearance handled port by port, by a team that knows how each one actually works.

Clearance at the port your goods are sitting at

Every port runs to its own systems, terminals and inspection arrangements. A declaration that is right for one is not automatically right for another, and the difference usually shows up as a delay rather than a rejection.

These pages set out how GEIM handles customs clearance at each port: what we cover, what we need from you, how long it normally takes and what most often holds a container up there.

GEIM covers 41 ports and airports across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe. Ports without their own page yet are listed on the customs clearance services page — call us and we will handle the movement in exactly the same way.
